The last time I flew economy (Virgin Atlantic) a lady on the flight paged an attendant and loudly complained to them that the passenger in the seat behind was not letting her recline her seat more than 50% - however much she tried to ram it back. The passenger in the seat behind was me. Silently I indicated to the attendant that the passenger was ramming her seat into my kneecaps which were positioned mid-seat-back due to bad seat placement - and that nothing short of major surgery was going to alter that. Attendant: Um... This made the lady rage; apparently she was pregnant and demanded a seat upgrade; alas the flight was full and there were no seats free in Premium nor Upper. The attendant suggested moving her forward to another row in economy, but apparently this was not good enough. Similarly, swapping seats with someone in the same row was not good enough. Finally she gave up, and just stayed partly reclined for the rest of the flight. Consideration for others. The horror.
