The last time we had our National Conference in Human Ecology, our 6th, was in 2011, in Intramuros, Manila. Now, we are all set to hold our 7th National Conference this coming November, 2014. I am proud to inform you however, that this 7th conference is no ordinary conference. Unlike the previous six, this time we are aiming to host an international conference, dubbed as the (first) Asia Pacific Conference in Human Ecology and Island Resiliency and Sustainability or the APC-HEIRS. This will happen on November 27-28, 2014 at the Acacia Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa, Metro Manila. Yes, this time, we are making it sure that no less than the current President of the International Society for Human Ecology, Dr. Robert Dyball, will be with us to deliver his keynote address. He will be joined by his colleagues at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian Natural University. Yes, this time, we sought partnerships with the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University of Japan, World Fish, Asean Centre for Biodiversity, UP Open University, the Philippine Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands, Philippine Federation for Environmental Concern, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, Municipal Government of Del Carmen from Siargao Island, and many more individuals and institutions who will present plenary and parallel session papers. I am excited to this forthcoming event which will coincide with CHE’s 40th Foundation Anniversary. How about you? apcheirs.humeinphils.org/
