The latest update...Just met with the claims adjuster. The good news is I get a whole new floor. The bad news is, the contractor who put in the cabinets after the fire put them on top of the floor, which means they have to pull out the whole kitchen just to redo the floor (good news is thats all covered. Actually, everything is covered except my $1000 deductible) Do I want to stay in a hotel for probably 3 weeks? Hmm..Thats covered. Maybe time for a little staycation. No guarantee they can salvage my counter tops, so I might possibly get new granite too. My kitchen is going to be torn up, so I get to eat out, and they will reimburse me( Amanda, save your receipts) If the dogs want to stay in a doggy hotel, thats covered too (but I dont think they want to) Im sure it will all be good in the end, but this sure is a big pain in the butt.
