The lead stories coming out of Ferguson are now about the protestors and the protesting and the efforts being used to stifle both. Social Media has become an unrelenting source of raw and unfiltered news about whats actually going on in Ferguson. We now see that the protestors transcend race, gender and even age. Caution: Some of these images are very graphic. Here are two examples. 1) Police are using rubber bullets on the crowds at night trying to get them to disburse. This non-lethal use of force does not mean they dont cause injuries and serious bodily harm. Protestors are using Instagram to document the results of what happens when something as innocent as rubber is fired with high velocity out of a gun. 2) Hedy Epstein, a 90-year-old Holocaust survivor was arrested on Monday during the unrest. Epstein, who aided Allied forces in the Nuremberg trials, was placed under arrest “for failing to disperse.” 8 others were also arrested. I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager. I didn’t think I would have to do it when I was ninety, Epstein said during her arrest. “We need to stand up today so that people won’t have to do this when they’re ninety.”
