The longer I live, the less I believe in coincidence. Tonight I was cleaning out some old stuff and came upon a little gift box with the wrapping paper neatly folded inside with the ribbon. The gift itself is in my jewelry box, still in use. As I unfolded the paper and remembered that birthday and having lunch in a little bistro in Fells Point (Baltimore), the song, The Way We Were just popped into my head. I could feel a few tears forming as a man and his wife had a loud argument on TV. I folded the paper, placed it back in the box and just sat for a minute, the song still playing in my head.The TV argument was over and there was momentary silence. Then, an instrumental arrangement of the song began to play as background music as the husband looked through a box of memorabilia from the couples relationship.
