The main post about Mr Boulds passing has some nice comments and I dont really want to hijack it with my personal memories. However, this has come as a bit of a shock, more than I imagined it would, so I hope people dont mind if I write a little here. I didnt start PGS until the 4th year, arriving from a proper grammar school. What struck me from the outset was the atmosphere of the place and Mr Boulds approachability along with his - is it too much to say? - humanity. My previous experience of secondary school was that of a place primarily focussed on exam results. PGS had such a different approach that it was a bit of a shock to the system; it seemed to be just as interested in the individual pupils as much as exam results. It was far more personal. I loved it. As Ive looked back over the years my appreciation for the place has grown even more - not through misty-eyed nostalgia but through knowing teachers (marrying one!) and appreciating things more form the other side. And Ive learned how a head teacher can have such an effect on the whole school. Ill always have fond memories of PGS and although I only met Mr Bould twice whilst I was there (first to discuss a cover I was drawing for a prospectus, the second time to present it - encouraging and genuinely interested each time), I always think of it as his school. It was a great place to be. Thank you Mr Bould. My thoughts are with your family.
