The market determines air schedules in and out of Fresno, not the mayor and not one minor league team. Fresno has to stop trying to skip to the end or putting the cart before the horse when it comes to downtown development. Either it is market driven and organic, or else it is doomed to fail over and over again. Build it and they will come has not worked and will not work. Fix what was built for them to come and then they will finally come aint gonna work either. The downtown stadium was way over built for a minor league team in a mid sized city. That being said, has the city looked into a minor league soccer team? Perhaps there is a bigger market for soccer than baseball in Fresno? Or, how about showing some negotiating skills of our own and asking the Giants to schedule two or three Spring Training exhibition games in Fresno in return for any additional investment?
