The members of The Torch staff were severely disappointed in and embarrassed by President Alex Urygas behavior at the April 28 Student Senate meeting. From his opening statements in which he told senators to not vote to increase stipends because passion should be enough for a leadership position in organizations, to waving his arms during the meeting, he was beyond unprofessional. We believe that if organization leaders are expected to relinquish their stipends for the 2014-2015 year, then Uryga should support the student organizations and return his stipend from the current year as he is not in a position for the coming year to receive a stipend. We question if his passion for Student Senate is enough for him, or if he accepted the $2,001 he was promised.
