No society in the world is completely devoid of crime. But the rising number of robberies, kidnapping and assassinations in broad daylight, rape and murder has reached a disturbing level that you begin to think, Is somebody really in charge here? Sorry, guys. I am heartbroken for my friend Cherry Pie. I have met her mother years ago --- and she was a feisty, intelligent and life-loving woman. No one deserves to die that way. No one deserves to die the way of any of the victims of crime in this country. And I am not going to console myself by listening to self-congratulatory speeches about how allegedly great we have become. A friends mother has been brutally murdered --- and speeches dont mean a f---g thing.
