The metaphor of the bus is a useful one to drive along with today. - TopicsExpress

The metaphor of the bus is a useful one to drive along with today. As a child, without a car in the family, public transport was our means of transportation. The blue and white striped buses were operated in the City by Kingston-Upon-Hull Corporation but the long distance buses into the East Riding were run by the East Yorkshire Motor company. Their indigo and primrose buses were the holiday buses to the seaside and a front seat ride on the upper deck was the best because you imagined you were the driver. My short pants days have an association with these vehicles which remind me of sunny days out to Bridlington, Beverley and Hornsea through the countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds. So this morning which bus are you taking and where are you going?
