The monsoon trough is shaping in a different way to forecasts a few days ago. This is bringing one low closer to QLD and the other further North. The Low that was forecast to develop into a cyclone is now expected to approach the QLD coast bringing only rain. I am now thinking my original long range forecast prior to Christmas is proving to be accurate with the monsoon trough struggling to deepen and still a lack of rain. My original forecast was for rain in the first to second week of Jan and the drying out until early March when the monsoon trough becomes much more active. Lets hope I am wrong.
