The most important thing that having an autistic grandchild has - TopicsExpress

The most important thing that having an autistic grandchild has taught me is patience, and unconditional love and compassion when hes not happy. I used to be one of those people who stared, glared, and silently criticized bad parents for not making their children behave in public like I did when mine were little. But now when I hear a child screaming in a store or church, I never judge them anymore---for I know now that their child might also be autistic and if its time for a meltdown, theres just nothing they can do about it right then.
