The mother Cecile Espedilla Rodriguez mother of this sweet sick baby boy nearly three years old Cloud Cyan Rodriguez in visiting and meeting them is surprisingly quite a resourceful young women with two other children at home a one year old and an eleven year old girl. The father is a bell boy in a hotel that arranged time off as the mother is needed to care for her sick child and he has to care for the other two children. When the father is needed to run errands to buy medicines the 11 year old girl stay home from school to mind the 1 year old. They do not have any relative or familiy that is dependable to help them. The mother is from Leyte and the father is from Navotas. They have paid installment from peoples help 50 % of their current bill of 60,000 pesos. Surprisingly they were given a prescription to by 11 IV Globulin to strengthen the bodys natural defense system (immune system) to lower the risk of infection in persons with a weakened immune system at 7,500 each totaling 82,500. Through her sister working in Japan with no money either they were able to raise the full amount and the boy was treated. I talked to the credit manager of Mary Johnson Hospital in Tondo and currently their accumulated cost of all procedures and ICU cost is a reduced balance of about 29,000 pesos. This young mother has paid 113,000 pesos of money she did not have but I think because of her perseverance and nice nature friends here and Japan never hesitated to send her small amounts. Meeting this mother really impressed me even though I have not even wondered how they are surviving without income. She never not once asked me for money but simply shared her challenges that she is experiencing especially her concern that those person that already helped must not be pressured ti feel obligated to help. That is why in desperation her cousin Neth Allidapse a member of Bayanko shared her predicament with us. The Babys conditions is Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis are two forms of the same life-threatening skin disease that cause rash, skin peeling, and sores on the mucous membranes. It is one of those horrific experience in my life as I felt useless and speechless when I saw the child suffering and the real nice nature of the parents. Here I am so involved in Bayanko to make this nation a more bearable country to live in for its people and I experience live the true reality of this area Tondo in Manila and the plight of sick baby Cloud Cyan Rodriguez. I could not speak to the ICU Nurse at first because I was truly caught with my emotions. I never ever felt like this before. So Antonio (Sonny) is not so tough after all but at least I now know I have a soft heart. I promised to watch and observe the plight of this family until Baby Cloud is better.
