Sleepless in Roswell as the summer nighttime chorus of at least a dozen+ tree frogs serenade me, and anyone within earshot. These frogs appeared in my yard about 5 hours ago; one on the birds sun room window screen, 3 or 4 on the sun room roof, several in the trees near the house, and lastly - - on the roof outside our bedroom window. I found a great website that I.D.s all the frogs & toads in GA/TN, & believe these are Copes Gray Treefrogs. In listening to the various calls, I could I.D. a few other resident frogs as well, although they ate further away in the yard. My Spectacled Amazon (Sam) was semi-hysterical in his 2-hour quest to imitate their calls . . . despite his cage being covered for bedtime. Oh, it was not fun! He sounded a bit like a frog, but it was more of fingernails on a chalkboard. Will post the frog/toad website below. It is fascinating to recognize so many of these!
