The movie Selma is a powerful testimony to the character and dedication of Martin Luther King Jr to the civil rights movement of the United States. Both the liturgy and graphic presence of the script showcase the struggle of black Americans fighting for the right to vote uninhibitedly. Something we as indigenous people living north of the medicine line could study and learn from. From explaining how the right to vote was impeded on, to why the right to vote was important, to the planning sessions and high level discussions between King and the President this movie plots out the course of social unrest into action that results in change. I highly recommend it. Martin Luther King Jr.: That means protest! That means march! That means disturb the peace! That means jail! That means risk! That is hard!
