The movie studios are starting to announce the dates that they will stop making and distributing 35mm film to theatres. No more reels, sprockets, platters or splicers...its digital or die. There are a little over 400 Drive In Theatres currently operating in the entire world and it is estimated around 100 will not open this spring. For a small one screen family run Drive In the payback time for a digital conversion could be up to twenty years. Many just cant do it. They will sell the land and retire or take up new endeavors. Our Niagara Drive In has been digital for 2 years now and it will also take us many years to re-coup that capital investment. It was your strong support that gave us the confidence to move forward and we are super glad we did. No-one is getting rich around here but we post excellent numbers for a Drive In with our surrounding population count and we really really love what we do. We Thank You again for your continued support and we are all looking forward to our 2014 spring start up!
