The murder of King was part of a greater counter-insurgency; an ongoing war on legitimate revolutionary movement in this country. It was part of the attempt to maintain status quo and to keep a perpetual servitude of African people. The same forces that killed King in 68 are the same forces that killed Chariman Fred in 69, and that killed Malcolm in 65 and that killed Huey in 89. The struggle is ongoing and the counter-insurgency is as vibrant today as it was during the time of Garvey, with significant upgrades to its tactics and fronts. Chairman Omali speaks on the issue of the counter-insurgency and the perpetual war on Africans at home and in the diaspora and explains the King was a target in this war. Kings position about the government changed and this was evident in his rhetoric. In many elocutions he expressed a need for a radical redistribution of wealth in this country, the cessation of the war in Vietnam, the global militarism, imperialism and this unworkable capitalism that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. This was the rhetoric that challenged their status quo and put him in the crosshairs of the architects of evil in this society.
