The myriad of issues and problems in Nigeria are all foundational issues and problems based the kind of national culture that we have developed with regards to the different facets of National and local activities that we engage in as a people. When things happen i.e. go wrong e.g. someone does not do what they were supposed to do at work, in a ministerial department or parastatal, in govt or even in schools and the laws are not followed to address the issue and for correction, a culture is being developed right there, a culture of impunity and disregard to the law that establishes the bases for our co-existence. Where we are today is where though the average person in Nigeria complains of corruption in govt, a major part of the people in our country are also corrupt because the so called corrupt leaders were elected from the population and not from space. A culture of corruption have been developed in this country over many many years such that it will also take many years to correct. There You see that there is corruption in the workplace (where deals and runs are done), in government (at all levels) , in universities (where students buy results) across the country etc, etc.Until we all decide to change as a people, whether through a national revolution that will produce a paradigm shift in the way we do things and behave as a people or we get a good leader that will force this change to happen by enforcing the laws or what ever, things will pretty much be the same. We, each one of us that desire this country to be changed for good, must in our little ways start to be courageous to speak out and take action against all manner of corruption and not continue to be a part of it in any way, shape or form. The time is now.
