The need to be seen with important comrades reduces some people to levels of complete ridiculousness. If you must suck up to a comrade or volunteer yourself to being a stooge in order to be seen to be frequenting important circles or associating with leadership, then youve sacrificed your dignity at the altar of public affirmation. If you have to be reduced to a stalker, constantly calling comrades who at times even ignore your calls, constantly running around trying to find connections, just so you can be given VIP tickets to functions, then youve traded in your dignity. I dont think anyone should ever be so desperate to be seen with leadership that theyd be willing to humiliate themselves to access these important circles. The tragedy is that more often than not, these important comrades that get sucked up to are important only because of what positions they hold in structures. But when history has its say, it wont have anything of substance to say about them, because outside those positions, theyre philistines and emptyists who cant reason. And yet people with serious depth reduce themselves to sucking up to such characters just to be seen to be around leadership. Theres NO comrade, not one, who I want to be seen with so much that I would sit and architect strategies on how I can be in his/her circles. I refuse to elevate anyone above my own self-respect, and theres no self-respect in harrassing and begging comrades for VIP tickets or being a doormat of some my leader character who has an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
