No doubt the optics will be top class but is it serious overkill @ $11,996.95 USA (or R120,000.00 excluding insurance, VAT and shipping from the USA? Expect to add at least another $2000.00 to get it here.) The older version Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 400mm f/2.8G ED VR AF Lens is selling for $8999.00 in the USA (or R128,000.00 here inc VAT.) Add the 2x TC-III and a Dx format sensor and you have a 1200mm f/5.6 If you are unfit forget it, it weighs 3.8kg excluding DSLR so if a D4s youd have to lug about near enough 5kgs of gear. Forget the cooler box. Picture Angle is a narrow 6° 10 on FX. On DX it is 4° !
