The new wave of the westward movement, only this time it’s not wagons, horses, farm animals and families; but rather cold, hard giant man-made contraptions disguised as ‘progress’, on the horizons of our wide open spaces of our west. Someone likened it to the spreading of rust. I see this rust creeping its way westward. Livestock on mustang management lands are merely a smokescreen to what is looming- changing the face of our wide open spaces. There are still those who are complacent- business as usual bc everything looks good in their backyard, so to speak. But stepping back and looking at the big picture, you can see the migration over-running the last of our wild public lands here in our west, affecting fragile ecosystems, including our wild horse herds…. the heartbeat of our earth.
