The new wine dries up and the vine withers; all the merrymakers - TopicsExpress

The new wine dries up and the vine withers; all the merrymakers groan. The joyful timbrels are stilled, the noise of the revelers has stopped, the joyful harp is silent. No longer do they drink wine with a song; the beer is bitter to its drinkers. The ruined city lies desolate; the entrance to every house is barred. In the streets they cry out for wine; all joy turns to gloom, all joyful sounds are banished from the earth. The city is left in ruins, its gate is battered to pieces. So will it be on the earth and among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, or as when gleanings are left after the grape harvest. Isaiah 24:7-13 (NIV) The devastation will include the cessation of festivities, followed by a total judgment upon the world’s confused society. The scene of judgment will not be pretty as things falter, the vines are dying, the merriment ceases and the partying ends. There will be no more music and the joy will leave the people. The governments will be broken down and in confusion. The governments falter and the lives of people fail. We find buildings and homes shut up so that no one may go in. People are crying for wine in the streets as they try to forget their grief. There is no joy to be found anywhere. Everywhere they look they see desolation and destruction. There is no food to be found. There are few merchants and everything has become too expensive. They cannot go into the fields and find any food due to droughts and ravaging of warfare. When the Lord brings His judgment of the Great Tribulation the days of partying and drinking will be over. Matthew 24:38: “For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.” When the Great Tribulation comes, the noise of the jubilant ends, the joy of the harp ceases. Judgment will be so complete everything will have become barren.
