The news coming out of Malaysia about the likelihood now of a hijacking of the missing plane is very very disturbing. What will this mean for the future of air travel? How could it even happen given all the security checks we go through to get a visa and to go through airports? That process is already a horrible one for so many of us. How could it be any worse? I know of so many of my friends who have been refused visas, usually on the simple grounds that they are single or have not traveled internationally before. Is the security process more lax in Eastern countries than they are in Western countries? It is so hard to believe that hijacking can even be a possibility and it is frustrating to think what this could mean for the future of air travel. But now my thoughts are with the passengers on that plane, hoping beyond hope that they may actually come out of this horrible thing alive.
