The news of the death of Clinton Grant hit me hard although he was not my friend. I would see him in the gym at Centre of Excellence going through his paces and and admired him for his achievements in the cycling arena thats about it. But his death hit me hard because I too ride on the road. I think every road cyclist will tell you that death on the road from an errant driver is always a possibility but we do it anyway for the love of it - the professionals and the amateurs like me. He died doing what he loved. The death will not stop me or thousands of others from getting back on the saddle. My only hope is that it will be a lessen to other drivers to respect other road users especially cyclists.
