The next storm of interest will be late this weekend into early - TopicsExpress

The next storm of interest will be late this weekend into early next week across the Northeast. Latest runs of the GFS and ECMWF models both agree that there will be a storm during this timeframe, but details are still fuzzy regarding the track and associated precipitation type. The GFS model is showing a track closer to the coast which means more snow for areas closer to the coast, while the European model cuts the area of low pressure inland, changing many areas even into central Maine over to rain. (The dark blue 540 thickness line can be used as a ROUGH approximation of rain/snow on the ECMWF panel that does not have precip type). We will continue to keep you updated as this threat evolves; this is only the beginning of tracking our next weather maker, so things could change drastically and rapidly! --Karl
