The number of elderly lacking cars and living in areas without supermarkets nearby is forecast to increase to 5.98 million nationwide by 2025. The problem is especially acute in cities, with the population of such consumers expected to double. To provide relief, local supermarkets and shopping arcades are expanding services for the elderly.
