The objective of this Project was to completely rebuild and convert a standard suite into an accessible live&work environment. All finishes and shapes had to meet the functional requirements of a motorized wheelchair freely moving through each room without causing damage to walls, doors, or furniture. Many of the key answers to our challenges - from sourcing impact resistant interior trim to developing solutions for a balcony ramp - were found by close collaboration with the Client. Of course like in any Project, the aesthetic values were not less important. There is an unexpected sense of accomplishment resulting from any unique assignment. However, this one offered an unmatched satisfaction because of the change it brought to a standard of living. Thank you for the experience.
