The ongoing Belgium Open is the first high-profile event where the NEW 11x5 SCORING System is implemented. Watching the matches, these are some of the salient features - and here are some of the deductions we made: 1) The matches are getting over much faster: Hardly any match is going past 50minutes, even when it gets pushed to the decider (5th game) 2) Sudden death: At 10-all, whoever scores the next point wins that game. This may take a while for 3) Lack of Time to Make Up: It is observed that once a players lags with 2, 3, or 4 points etc its very hard to make up...since by then his opponent would have very much approached gamepoint. 4) A stretch of a few good, consistent points is a great way to mount a lot of pressure on the opponent! However, this can work against the player too... 5) With shorter games, a player may get more rest overall, compared to the 21x3 system. What do YOU think, loyal fans and players out there - Do you prefer the older 21x3 or the new 11x5 System? Why, and/or Why not? Please tell us your opinions and share with us your wisdom, observations and recommendations. Wed be glad to hear from you :) Either way, Play Fair and Give It Your All :)
