(Proverbs 13:4 NKJV) I put this question to you tonight to think about...DO YOU HAVE A GOAL FOR YOUR LIFE ? HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS? ARE YOU THE TYPE THAT IS WAITING TO BE PUSHED BEFORE YOU DO THE RIGHT THINGS? THOSE WHO WAIT TO BE PUSHED NEVER GO ANYWHERE. THEY ARE EITHER EMPTY OR FAULTY(CAR ENGINE). Moreover, prov. 21:5 says: “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5 A truly profound statement by King Solomon. God actually guarantees our plans will lead to abundance through diligence. The Cambridge dictionary defines the act of diligence as being ‘careful and serious in your work, or done in a careful and determined way’. Hence a picture is formed of someone who is making progress through hard work, detail and perseverance. In the same manner, your life and the development of the total man requires a careful process of diligence for lasting change to take place. READ JOSEPHS STORY when you get to your hostels. The beautiful thing about diligence is that anyone can apply it. In fact a person, who is consistently diligent and has very little ability, over time, will run circles around someone who is very talented but refuses to be diligent in his undertakings. “Few things are impossible to diligence and skill. Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.” Samuel Johnson PERSEVERANCE MEANS CONSISTENCE AND PERSISTENCE DETERMINATION TO ENDURE AND OVERSTEP OBSTACLES AND REACH THE GOAL, NO MATTER HOW HARD IT MAY SEEM, IN ACHIEVING YOUR DREAM. ASK YOURSELF, AM I HARDWORKING AND ENDURING ENOUGH TO MAKE SURE MY ACADEMIC AND SPIRITUAL TARGET IS ACHIEVED? IS MY TARGET ORDAINED BY GOD TO BRING SUFFICIENCY? How can you acquire true perseverance? Only divine. Flesh does not comply with perseverance....Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, LONGSUFFERING, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22, 23 NKJV) EPHESIANS 6:18 FURTHER ADDS A PLUS: PRAYING ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:18 NKJV) THEREFORE: DILIGENCE+ PERSEVERANCE+LONGSUFFERING + HOLY SPIRIT DIRECTION+ SERIOUS PRAYERS = ABUNDANCE... REPEAT THREE TIMES. THE MAJOR ENEMIES OF DILIGENCE IS LAZINESS, LAXINESS(UNSERIOUSNESS) PROCASTINATION, AND PESSIMISM. They can ruin lives. I PRAY THEY WILL NEVER RUIN YOUR LIFE. DONT ALLOW LAXITY, PROCASTINATION, AND LAZINESS. .........not only does diligence give us a harvest of abundance, it also yields in us a stronger character and opens our eyes to the discovery of our capabilities. Things that were initially hard for us become easier to do because of our invested effort. Where diligence is concerned, we must never forget that it’s not an overnight procedure, it take time. For instance, if you’ve been living a life sustained by fast food and take-aways, you don’t suddenly become healthy tomorrow because you ate a carrot today! Neither do you get to fully understand God by reading a chapter of the Bible and praying for five minutes, you must diligently ‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.’James 4:8 It’s not enough to say ‘ok I’m going to work harder at stuff.’ Diligence isn’t merely the product of hard work, it’s the derivative of hard work coupled with knowledge, discipline and persistence. Diligence is the fuel that turns our desires into reality. Of all that we own, it is one of our most precious possessions. Even if everything in life is lost, diligence is a key that can lead us from poverty to prosperity. And that prosperity can reign in our thinking, spirit, health, relationships and finances. Always do your best to be diligent where possible – because every act of diligence flows from one area of you life to positively affect another.
