The original cast iron head was sent to the machine shop for work. Being that it was magnafluxed first and checked for cracks we found that there were some significant cracks that deemed the head irrepairable. We went with a proper pre-smog aluminum head that was shipped from across the pond. New pistons and rings (standard sized) fit the nicely cross honed cylinders. New main and rod bearings with new timing components and a fresh coat of burgundy for color matching that era. Fan is always yellow these years for safety.
