The ornery and amazing Phyllis Elaine Lenz has passed away. Born on August 23rd, 1925 to Palmer and Erna Hanson, she grew up in the quaint town of Browns Valley, Minnesota. A hard lived and loving woman, she had many wonderful accomplishments, but none as important to her as the extraordinary family of which she presided as matriarch. She is survived by her son Dr. Craig Jerome Lenz and daughter Lynette Kay Lenz, daughter-in-law Linda Lenz, and son-in-law Warren Haslup. Her grandchildren include Laurie, Craig, and Andy Lenz, as well as Cody, Erika, and Chelsea Haslup. In addition Phyllis is survived by five great-grandchildren. Phyllis tackled life as a military spouse, University of Maryland employee, motorcyclist, pilot, avid traveler, conqueror of white water rapids, and ran the successful Ferris Mansion Bed and Breakfast with her sister and brother-in-law. She spent many years abroad, but has roots in her Minnesota hometown, Laurel, Maryland, and Rawlins, Wyoming. Her life, like many, was complex and is difficult to surmise is a few paragraphs. But she would have liked to let the world know that she loved and was extremely proud of her entire family, from her son and daughter, extended out to her great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephew. Phyllis remaining few years were spent in the loving home of her daughter and son-in-law. She passed peacefully ready to see her late siblings Janice and Vernon. As she requested, there will not be a memorial service held in her honor since, You shouldnt be spending money on that kind of s#@%. Instead she requests that if you miss her, or are reminiscing make sure to have a Budweiser and some salty kettle chips. Shell be toasting you on the other side.
