The other day I heard Randy Roads on teh liberal radio claim that the "Separate but equal" doctrine was a basic Republican position. Such an egregious distortion of history requires a response. When Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican President was elected the Democrat controled states suceeded. When Democrat John W. Booth shot Lincoln, the Radical Republicans disenfranchised all registered democrats in the rebel states with the objective of destroying the economic and political power of the southern slave owning aristocracy. The Freedom Riders went into the south to register Black People Republican to vote out the Jim Crow Democrats. Our problem is that unreconstructed southerners now control the Republican Party. I propose we halve the representation of the southern states in the Republican National Committee.
