The other day I heard a story on RadioLab about left handed - TopicsExpress

The other day I heard a story on RadioLab about left handed people. Allegedly, they only make up 10% of the human population yet, according to the story, the animal population is 50% left handed. WHAT? How does one know if an animal or a bird is a lefty? Well, I looked it up. In some cases, Scientists conducted tests where they held out some food to birds and monkeys to see which claw or hand they used to yank it free. They employed observation techniques, like watching which direction a fish dodges to avoid a predator. They played with cats for a week. Female cats are mostly right-pawed. Tom cats are mostly lefties. Dogs wag their tails to the right when they are happy and to the left when they are agitated. Fascinating stuff, right? Noodle is ambidextrous and can shake hands with his left and right paw, so, as I always expected, hes a genius.
