MetroNews Morning News Headlines: Its a day set aside to pay tribute to those who died in military service to the country. Ceremonies are planned all across the state today to honor West Virginias war dead, including a parade in Grafton. The 147th Memorial Day service at he National Cemetery in Taylor County was held on Sunday. The place which probably honors the most West Virginia vets killed in action is closed this Memorial Day. There are 10,000 names etched in the granite of the state Veterans Memorial at the Capitol Complex. However, the memorial is undergoing renovation and not open today. The goal is to have it ready by Veterans Day in November. President Obama paid a surprise visit to 32,000 troops serving in Afghanistan on Sunday. Along with him on the trip, West Virginia native Brad Paisley who performed a litany of his hits for the troops. Two shootings in as many nights are under investigation at Myrtle Beach. The shootings happened along Ocean Boulevard. The Saturday night shooting left three people dead.
