The other day, I went shoe shopping with a friend of mine. I found these amazing shiny silver Steve Madden sandals. They were *perfect* Vegas shoes. Flat, comfy, versatile. I really wanted them. So I tried them on in my size, which is somewhere between an 8 and a 8 1/2 depending on the shoe. Only.....they didnt fit. I was bummed out, I mean I really wanted the shoes. I was ready to move on to the next pair when my genius friend says Well, why dont you just try on a 9? Wait? What? No. I am NOT a size 9. Im just not. (I actually thought this in my head). But I loved the shoes and I wanted them, so I tried on a 9. Guess what? They didnt fit either, too small. So she brings me a 10. I have NEVER in my life worn a 9, a 10 is like.....beyond the realm of comprehension. But, Id already tried on a 9, so hey, why not a 10? The 10 fit perfectly, the shoes are beautiful, I wore them last weekend, I love them and I will love them all summer long. Now, if I hadnt told you about my size 10 sandals, would you see me and go Wow, look at those size 10s! or would you look at me and say Hey, cute shoes! Im guessing the latter. So WHY are YOU so concerned about your weight? Is someone going to look at you and say Wow, you gained 5 pounds, eh? or are they going to look at you and say Dang, your butt looks amazing in those jeans! Stop identifying yourself by measurements that have no meaning. You are more than that number, WAY MORE! Think about how you look, how you feel and how PROUD you are of yourself for changing your life. Because that, my friends, is what other people see. And if you’re “weighed” down with things that don’t matter, that’s going to affect your attitude, and THAT is what other people will see. #size10shoesrock
