The other day while making the trip up to Mt. Shasta, I stopped to get gas. I was approached at the pump by a young man who was hitch hiking. Even if I had room in my car, (he would have had my 78 pound golden retriever on his lap) I would never pick up a hitchhiker. He asked me for money, and I gave him two bucks and a turkey sandwich. Theres a lot of young people with back packs hitchhiking along the California-Oregon border and many are along side the road in Mt. Shasta. When I see them, I wonder if they are craving simplicity and thats why they wander or they wander because they dont know what their life purpose is?
