The particular instances that have occurred over the passing weeks could be chalked up to something as simple as coincidence, or something as cosmic as karmic retribution. The powers that be know that Im the farthest cry from innocent. But I cannot possibly be alone in thinking that our generation is an apathetic lot, completely lacking in any real conviction. When your best efforts yield no results, what more can you do than keep trying? Arent we all suffering from the same human condition? Searching for the same reciprocation of concern and honesty in a friend? Who knows, maybe this is all a projection of how little faith I have in myself to be a good friend, or person for that matter. In that sense, perhaps Ive received my just desserts. When it really comes down to it, this will all mean nothing anyway.
