The past two-weeks Cleveland Metroparks Natural Resources staff has been assisting with field labs for a Stream Ecology class from Cleveland State University. The students learned to use assessment methods for evaluating stream habitat, bank erosion, and aquatic macroinvertebrate communities on sites in the West Creek watershed. These are the same methods that the Park District uses to monitor the health and quality of its streams throughout its reservations, giving the students hands-on experiences with skills needed to work in the environmental science field. ~Claire Weldon, Aquatic Research Coordinator
