The penalty shoot out last Wednesday night was a huge success, thanks to the glorious sunshine, the 20 teams who participated, and the huge crowd who attended Cooke Park. Huge Thanks to Lions Club and Hanley Tyres who were sponsors. The three charities who benefitted were Mount Sion, Laura Lynn Foundation and Tipp Regional Youth Services. Many Thanks to the three goalies, Mark Lowry, Donnacha Horan and Wayne Rogers. Also to ball boys/men, Eddie Jones, Jimmy Tobin, Jack Tobin, Colin/Shane O Grady. Penalty shoot out for kids was great fun, thanks to Taylor Allen Flynn who was under age goalie, and lads who helped out there. Ladies Section was won by Tipp Town ladies B team. Some great penalties were taken and some funny ones! Great semi final line up, Cornys Bar, (Mark Cooney), Lowrys Bar, (Tony Lowry), Kilfeacle RFC, Tipp Framing (Alan Flynn). Lowrys and Kilfeacle got to the final. Exciting final with sudden death and win for Kilfeacle RFC 6-5. This event is becoming a staple in the line up for the Festival every year and it was a great fun event. CJ Kickham Band got the crowd warmed up, as did the excellent compare Willie Bun. It was a great way for people to see our excellent facilities once again. AGM taking place July 19 - 7.30pm, Cooke Park Club House. Please everybody try and attend this Meeting. Congratulations to James Walsh, Jimmy Carr, Paul Breen and Chris Higgins who received their Caps at a function at club house on Friday night. A large crowd attended with many family and friends. Congrats also to James Walsh who has now 77 Caps, a feat which will be very hard to beat in years to come.
