The people in any society will not offer mutual assistance to one another. Therefore, the government must coerce them to do so. This is the core of liberalism, progressivism, socialism, communism and fascism. Coercion and theft of their fellow man or the “ends justify the means” is their modus. While some may be helped, as many are hurt and the results are always the same; the nation declines. Christianity teaches do unto other as you would have them do unto you. The standard of living increases wherever this is applied. The facts speak for themselves.
