The photo evidence of our first (yes, I said first) trip to visit a mall Santa...and the kids are 6 yrs and 9 yrs :) I remember Bronson looking at me in horror 9 years ago when Jacob was celebrating his first Christmas and I declared I think we should NOT do the Santa thing :) I obviously lost that discussion quickly. It wasnt that I was anti-Santa...but rather I was anti-lying. I would avoid the mall like the plaque with my kids around this time of year and I was overjoyed to find when we moved to Cedar Rapids in 2009 (kids then 1.5 yrs and 4 yrs) that Hy Vee had Breakfast with Santa! Yay...problem solved...no mall Santa or waiting line with impatient little hands and feet!! Now 9 years later, we not only went to see the mall Santa but also added Waldo, our Elf on a Shelf. A friend shared a really cool letter about explaining the lie and I am certain that will come in handy soon...but for now...here was our mall Santa adventure tonight in pictures. I even bought the little globe...just because it was proof in an ornamental way that I DID take them to a mall Santa...at least once ;)
