The photos of Harold W. Gates and his parachute comrades in 6th British Airborne Division is the start of publication here on this site of different issues and photos from the Normandy Campaign in 1944. In my book which was published last year with the title “Normandie 1944. Bocage” it was not possible to use all the stories I have got from interviewing more than 300 veterans from US, Canada, England, Scotland, Poland, Germany and Austria. I’ll therefor try to publish some of it here. Though Harold W. Gates was mentioned in my first book I decided to publish his photos now. Some of the veterans from my first book will appear also in my forthcoming book «Normandie 1944. The land of the dead.» This book will bring the story from Operation Cobra to the encirclement of the 7th German Army in the Falaise Pocket in end of August 1944. This book is planned to be printed and published this year but it might be quite tough to get it finished. There are always some more details to be straighten out in the research or new “stuff” appear.
