The police were told to arrest me, I am fine. Alhamdulillah - TopicsExpress

The police were told to arrest me, I am fine. Alhamdulillah narrowly avoided. I was forcefully removed by security from BBC studio today because apparently reading the names of the dead of Gaza is a crime. I hugged a long list of papers, measuring more than 18 ft in length with the names of more than 599 that have been killed, laying them out in front of the BBC studio and read the names one by one. Can you imagine your loved ones being murdered and described by the media as scores, several and others? No, it is disgusting! When you portray the occupier as the victim, and the occupied as the aggressor, we would like to remind journalists that resistance to occupation is a right under international law. And we would like you to remember that Israel’s occupation, siege and collective punishment of Gaza is not. The real crime is that of impartiality. And, finally, to remind journalists, when interviewing Israel’s spokespeople over the coming days, to ask the one question they have all failed to ask: “If Israel ends its occupation of Palestinian land, and allows the people of Palestine to live in freedom from Israeli domination, would that bring peace?” Thank you all for your love and concern for me but please keep Palestinian people in your prayers.
