The politics in the organization where I work is so thick that its stifling at times. Today I regained inspiration to believe that within a highly political institution, there is hope to drive change... A group of instructors made a conscious decision to redesign their courses, and have saved students over $100,000 in textbook costs in the fall term alone! My hope was that we would reach that mark by summer 15, but it happened in 1 semester!!! Yesterday I posted a graphic alluding to the fact that we need to be the change in our worlds (a paraphrase of my favorite quote by Gandhi), and I am so proud to be part of a team that has done just that: through the efforts of full and part time faculty, we saved students over $100K from August through December of 2014. Go Save100K Team! Next year Ill rename the project Save 500K!
