The power of social media: Our neighbor across the street from us - TopicsExpress

The power of social media: Our neighbor across the street from us had their 2012 Ford F350 crewcab diesel pickup stolen from their locked garage yesterday at 4:52 am. Our neighbor went to leave for work and found the truck gone and the garage door up. His wife says she checked that the garage door was down and side door was locked at 9 pm the evening before. They are not sure how the burglar broke in to the garage. They typically leave the keys in their vehicles, feeling that this is safe since the garage is locked. We know the time of the crime since our driveway security camera shows him walking across our yard (creepy) at 4:02 am and their truck driving off at 4:52am. The thief confronted a security guard at a copper mine near Globe, AZ. The security guard ran the license plate and called our neighbor to complain that he is not to 4 wheel on private mine property. Our neighbor told the guard the vehicle was stollen but by then the guy got away. We contacted our niece who lives in that area and she posted a description of the vehicle on Facebook. One of her contacts had seen the vehicle deserted in a sandy ravine. The keys were still in the vehicle. Talk about dumb criminals, the police went to get it out of the ravine, found it was stuck in the sand, so they put it in 4WD and drove it out. The thief is still at large.
