The premise of minimum wage, when it was introduced, was that a single wage earner should be able to own a home and support a family. That was what it was based on; a full time job, any job, should be able to accomplish this. The fact people scoff at this idea if presented nowadays, as though the people that ring up your groceries or hand you your burgers don’t deserve the luxury of a home and a family, is disgusting. It goes even further than that to me. If you want the people around you to be able to live better lives then your own life itself will improve. So the longer we stand and judge one another the longer it will take for all of us to grow together. Dont you realize that if someone is happier with their own reality that theyll want everyone around them to be happier and so on? Why is this even a discussion?
