The prisoner who was beaten to death at the Golden Grove Remand Yard will be buried today. The funeral of Aimard Placid Lima will be held at the La Divina Pastora Roman Catholic Church in Siparia from 3pm. He will then be buried at the Siparia Cemetery. 47-year-old Lima was found dead in his cell last Sunday, three days after he was sent to the facility. The autopsy revealed severe internal injuries. Prison authorities say he was beaten by his cellmates, but his family believes prison officers are responsible. Lima was being held on an outstanding warrant for a 25-year-old rape case.
