The problem ridden KLIA II was never meant to be build at the site where it is now, thus its unsuitability owing to the peat swamp (tanah gambut) terrain of the area. Nonetheless, Umno Barus stubborn crony capitalism got the better of what was a precise strategic masterplan for KLIA being, ultimately the regional air transport hub, at par, if not equal, to Singapores Changi. In the masterplan, drawn by a pool of architects, engineers and other celebrated professionals in building of airports, the KLIA II was supposed to be built in what was established and identified in the overall masterplan as KLIA West; an area of robust ground foundation in Labu, Negri Sembilan. Until an influential crony of Umno came along and beat the airport planners and builders in their professional responsibility to the nation. Biasalah, what is MCA to UMNO BARU?
