The process of writing a song: Start by either A: writing a poem, or B: picking up a guitar If you choose path A, your next step is to edit the poem. Then you begin to write music or choose a song that you have already written, and figure out a way to turn the syllables of your poem into a rhythmic melody. Then you figure out the structure of the song and make any final edits, show it to a few people to get some feedback, and it is then time to record. If you choose path B you must then mess around on the guitar until you discover a musical lick that you enjoy, then slowly begin to form chords, and structure the song in your mind, then write a melody. You must then get feedback, and then it is time to record! Next step: recording. Save thousands and thousands of dollars, book studio time, and then practice the music so you can record it as fast as possible. Once recorded, you must listen to the tracks until you have the sound memorized, and then you must go back to the studio a second time to mix and master the tracks to perfection. Following this you must use the remaining money to put together the artwork for the album, and then order CDs or sell your music on iTunes. Now for the final step. You release the music to the public, pray that the public will like it and your music will be spread around and heard, then play as many concerts as you can to promote your new music. If by some miracle all of these things happen and it ends up okay, it is now time to write new music. The life of a musician.
