The prompt response of the Federal and Lagos State governments to the Ebola outbreak reasured me of our governments ability to contain the deadly virus. My older friend, Olatunde Fatinikun, M.D, who was a medical school classmate of late Dr Adedavor, warned me to limit my exposure to people and that the government may be under-reporting the enormity of the virus. I listened with only one ear until...a day after he reported that the Ebola virus has been effectively contained, our minister of health also said another doctor had died of Ebola in Portharcourt, and he may have infected other people, with the likelihood of the deadly virus spreading beyond the shores of the Rivers State city. Then I remember incompetence. I remember corruption. Our two lethal menace that may aid the spread of Ebola. And I opened my two ears to Dr Fatinikuns informed caveat.
